University of Applied Sciences Fulda - Network and Data Security Group - NDSec-1 Dataset

Welcome to the NDSec-1 dataset website

This is the landing page of the NDSec-1 dataset, which incorporates traces and log files of cyber attacks synthesized at our network facilities. It arised based on the absence of publicly available captures containing a broad range of different attack footprints to either benchmark existing intrusion detection systems or to support network security research in designing new detection engines. Therefore, we performed different attacks using state-of-the-art tools resulting in three distinct attack scenarios. Further details about the entire dataset including motivation and initial experimental results can be found in the following two publications:
  • F. Beer, T. Hofer, D. Karimi, U. Buehler, A new attack composition for network security, In: P. Mueller, B. Neumair, H. Reiser, and G. D. Rodosek (Eds.), 10. DFN-Forum - Kommunikationstechnologien, LNI, vol. P-271, pp. 11-20, GI, Berlin, Germany, 2017 (download)
